JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures reliable operation, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The technician works both independently and as part of a service team to deliver high-quality service and timely solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems
Support and collaborate with other technicians and team members in the field
Ensure job quality, safety compliance, and workmanship standards are met
Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and repair options
Identify repair and preventative maintenance opportunities
Coordinate with dispatch, service management, and parts teams for efficient service delivery
Verify that all work meets manufacturer, code, and company standards
Complete detailed service documentation and job reporting
Participate in rotations and emergency response as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required
HVAC technical school or equivalent training preferred
EPA Section 608 certification required
Valid Montana driver’s license and insurable driving record
2–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred
Experience with rooftop units, boilers, chillers, controls, and building automation systems
